Practicing Gratitude by Noticing What’s Here
I’ve long had a gratitude practice— counting and often writing down blessings.
This takes many forms for me and might include a gratitude journal, the jar in my kitchen window, a blessing bowl… but lately it’s taken on a different tone.
It seems more imperative that I catalog what’s in front of me and deliberately capture it.
Not because I am executing something on a “to do” list but from the energy of noticing.
Noticing what delights me…
What is enchanting…
What is beautiful…
Significant and Sacred.
It’s always right in front of me to be seen and experienced more fully.
I’ve been writing down “The Delightful Dozen” and I love the practice. Others may resonate with “The Enchanting Eleven”, “The Significant Seven” or “The Fabulous Four.”
It makes me laugh out loud on my morning wanderings in the desert.
What a shift. I hope you’ll love it, too.
